Verified Water brings together the expertise, tools, and quality assurance necessary for a complete end-to-end water credit program that is credible, transparent, and trustworthy. The foundation of our program is the Water Credit Standard, which provides project originators with clear rules, requirements and guidance to generate water credits from water conservation and replenishment actions. The standard was developed by our team of water sustainability experts with a 30+ year track record in all aspects water resource management, and has undergone review by respected subject matter experts. Water sustainability actions that meet Water Credit Standard requirements—and are third-party verified—generate Verified Water Credits (VWCs). Each VWC represents 1,000 gallons of additional freshwater benefits that can then be purchased in any amount. In this way, Verified Water offers a platform for funding water actions and achieving claims that are flexible and approachable for any sized organization. VWC transactions are also restricted to the Verified Water Market Exchange, giving buyers added assurance that their volumetric claims are certified and protected from double counting.
